Our Values

We believe that the bicycle is a vehicle in many senses of the word. It can be a vehicle that carries you where you need to go or one that brings you to beautiful corners of the world you never knew existed. It can also be a vehicle for personal growth and self sufficiency, teaching valuable life lessons that translate across all aspects of ones life.

With this understanding, we are guided by these core values.

Inclusivity

The world of biking continues to be exclusionary of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks. At PBC we want to work to change that by creating a space where everyone's voice is valued and everyone truly feels welcome.

Equity

We believe that bikes are a vehicle for all and that no barriers should prevent families from the joy of riding a bike. We commit to working in a way that furthers the movement towards racial, social, and economic justice.

Service

We care about providing quality programming and experiences to everyone involved in PBC both on and off the bike. We aim to serve in adaptive ways that react to the individual needs and differences throughout our community.

Accountability

We commit to being accountable for our impact, especially when our impact differs from our intention. By committing to providing a welcoming environment to our riders, volunteers and staff, we are prepared to reflect on our mistakes and learn from them.

Compassion

We believe in positive reinforcement and adaptive learning environments that change with the youth involved in our programming. We accept that kids have a lot of external stressors pushing them throughout their day and our goal is to provide a space where youth can come as they are and engage in the way that feels the best for them each day.

Let’s Talk

Do you have a youth between the ages of 7-13 in your life who is excited about the idea of learning and playing in an inclusive, noncompetitive environment?
